  • Small pot
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon
  • strainer
  • Glass bowls
  • Tall Glass
  • Reusable straw

  • 1 C. dried boba pearls
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. matcha powder, to taste
  • 2 C. milk of choice
  • 2 Tbsp. simple syrup or honey

  • This recipe is super easy!
Make the simple syrup if you do not already have it on hand. When making simple syrup the ratio of liquid to sugar is always 1-1. Mix together 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool. I always have this on hand for various cocktails and drinks. Super handy for cold drinks in summer as sugar in its solid state will not easily dissolve in cold liquids and honey tends to seize up as well.
Bring a pot of water to a full boil and throw in your choice of boba. I typically use the boba sold on Amazon distributed by WuFuYuan but I am sure any brand would do. Let cook until plump and doubled in size- at least 5 or 6 minutes or follow the manufactures instructions. Scoop the cooked boba out of the pot and immediately mix with simple syrup or honey, which will make the boba slightly sweet.
Add your matcha powder to your glass and add desired sugary substance to form a thick paste. This will keep the matcha powder from clumping together. Make sure to mix the two together well. Slowly mix in half of your choice of milk. Next add the boba to your glass, along with ice and the remaining amount of milk. Stir together and enjoy! Remember to pick up some boba tea straws from Amazon or a local Asian market to get the true boba tea experience!
