  • measuring cups and spoons
  • Bowls
  • Bowl scraper
  • Dutch oven

  • 3 Cup Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 Can Beer, any kind
  • 4 Tsp. Baking soda
  • 3/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Mustard powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Thyme
  • 1 Tsp. Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/4 Cup Corn meal

  • I love how quick and easy this recipe is! Begin by preheating the oven to 350 F and placing your dutch oven into the oven to start warming up. You are going to want your dutch oven to be scorching hot when the dough is ready.
  • Begin by placing your flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and spices into a large bowl and mix to evenly distribute everything. Pour your beer into the dry mixture and start mixing the dough together in a folding method. Gently fold the dough over itself until it is fully combined and has formed into a loose ball. I like to fold the dough with a bowl scraper but you could also use a large spoon for this step, or even your hands! Once combined, remove your dutch oven from the oven and add an even layer of cornmeal to the bottom of the pan. Plop in your dough, replace the lid and place the entire dutch oven back into the oven to bake. Bake for 30 minutes and then remove the lid to the dutch oven for the remaining 15 minutes.
  • Once your beer bread is fully cooked through and golden brown, remove from your dutch oven and allow to cool. You can serve immediately or wrap the bread in plastic wrap to keep for up to a week. Enjoy!
