Hey guys and welcome back to the blog. Today we are going to be talking about Rakuten and how it is my very favorite tool when trying to save money when traveling.
Maybe you are wondering, what exactly is Rakuten?
That is a great question! Rakuten is an online service that partners with numerous brands and gives discounts when you purchase from their partners. I have been using their Chrome plugin for several years and it has saved me over $200 on purchases that I have made online. Their plugin is great for anyone that shops online because it notifies you if the site that you are shopping at is partnered with Rakuten. If it is, you simply click the little button that pops up to activate the cashback and there you go! It reroutes you to another page and you can shop knowing that you are going to get a percentage of your purchase back.
You are probably wondering how this would affect your ability to travel?
Rakuten actually has an entire page devoted to their travel partners where you can score some awesome deals. Last February, I saved over $100 on my 10-day cruise to the eastern Carribean just by using their plugin for Travelocity. It is really that simple and it blows my mind that more people don’t know about this! If you have more money to spend, you can do more and go to more places that you normally wouldn’t have the budget for. Why spend more on one vacation when you can easily save and stretch your budget to afford more. The days where only the rich could travel have become part of the past and thankfully now everyone should be able to afford to travel!
I have shared with you a couple of snapshots that are scattered throughout this post from my own Rakuten account to show how much money I have saved over the years of using my account. I have also included some snapshots of deals that are currently running. These change daily and you will get the best deals by watching and waiting for those double cashback days. I have seen certain companies increase their cashback amount to 20%! What a savings that would be! When I purchased my cruise, Travelocity was running a deal for 10% cashback across their entire site. If you are interested in signing up, I will leave a link for Rakuten right here! This is my personal referral link and I will receive a small commission if you choose to sign up using my link. Please know that this is not a sponsored post and I truly love using this service. I wouldn’t promote Rakuten if I didn’t personally use it in my day to day life and receive awesome results! I have been using their Chrome plugin for years and do not plan to stop anytime soon!
